Case Study
Brian Shigihara, IT Network Manager
Idaho Falls School District 91, the seventh-largest district in Idaho, is a vibrant educational community committed to shaping the future through innovative learning and strong partnerships.
As part of this commitment, the district provides each K-12 student with a device to help personalize instruction, enhance collaboration, and prepare students to be confident, creative problem-solvers.
The district's Technology Department is focused on seamlessly integrating innovative solutions to create secure and accessible digital learning environments for students, staff, and families.

Both the content modification feature and the Content-aware Module in Linewize Filter have made it easy for the IT team to remove distractions from sites like YouTube and Google, creating a safer educational environment.
Adding Classwize to integrate with the Filter has allowed the district to consolidate costs while giving teachers better control during class.
While teachers were initially hesitant to make the switch, Shigihara says that changed once their teachers tried Classwize for themselves. "They took it, used it, and said let's go for it."
Recognizing that filtering alone is not enough to keep students safe and well in the modern digital landscape, the district employed Monitor for real-time student safety alerts. After using Monitor for almost two years, the district credits the tool with saving the lives of several students.
The response to Qustodio Parent App has been positive, and Shigihara says that parent engagement is higher than usual as a result, with 31% of parents currently connected.
Qustodio has delivered the level of insight and control parents wanted for their students' school-issued devices, and has made it easier for staff to have conversations with parents about student online activity and wellbeing.
